The region there is escalating into a major crisis with the United States military striking the lawless west badlands of Pakistan. I have no doubts in my mind that the tribesmen there would fight till the last man standing.

I have a feeling that they are enjoying the prospect of going out for a full blown war with the United States on their own playground. They are hoping to do a USSR to the USA in the Afghan-Pakistan belt.
